Together with our client we are seeking a General Maintenance Assistant to join a well-established Works Department supporting a large, multi-building estate in a central city location. The department includes electricians, plumbers, builders, decorators, and carpenters, working together to maintain and support a diverse range of buildings of varying ages.Purpose of the RoleThe General Maintenance Assistant will provide both reactive and planned maintenance support across the estate. The role is varied and hands-on, contributing to the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of buildings and facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out general maintenance and minor repairs as directedSupport compliance duties, including setting up rooms for events, teaching, and functionsClean and maintain shower headsUndertake meter readings and ladder inspectionsMove furniture and furnishings as requiredAssist with routine maintenance of plant and equipment to meet statutory and organisational requirementsSupport building condition surveysIdentify, report, and record faults verbally and in writingProvide general assistance to the Works team as requiredAdditional attendance may be required on a rota basis to respond to emergencies outside normal working hours.
