Commercial Manager - Procurement

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a busy Procurement & Commercial team, managing end-to-end procurement activity across a range of goods, services and works.

The Role

You will be responsible for leading procurement activity from strategy development through to contract award and implementation, while providing commercial advice and guidance to stakeholders throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities from strategy through to contract implementation.
• Develop procurement strategies, tender documentation and governance submissions.
• Lead procurements across goods, services and works.
• Ensure compliance with procurement governance and relevant legislation.
• Engage with and advise stakeholders throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Manage sourcing activities and procurement events using SAP Ariba.
• Support strategic commercial initiatives and framework agreements.
• Evaluate bids and support supplier engagement and negotiations.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong experience delivering public sector procurements.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement processes.
• Experience across goods, services and works.
• Strong knowledge of procurement governance and approval processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing complex procurements within regulated environments.

Desirable:

• Knowledge and practical application of the Procurement Act 2023.
• SAP Ariba experience.
• MCIPS or another recognised procurement qualification.
• Experience working within large, complex organisations.
• Previous experience within transport, infrastructure or other public sector environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to work on complex procurement activity within a large organisation, with hybrid working and potential for extension.
