Contract: Fixed-Term Contract, minimum 6 months rolling

Salary:-Up to -55,000 Pro rata

Project duration: Construction programme currently scheduled until Late-2028, with potential to extend.

The opportunity

Safety Talent is recruiting an experienced Safety Advisor or Senior Safety Advisor to join a major construction development in Cardiff.

This is an opportunity to become part of an established site team delivering a substantial, high-profile construction project. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior safety lead and operational management, providing practical advice and support across the construction activities.

We''re particularly interested in speaking with people who can demonstrate the confidence and experience to operate independently and deputise for the senior safety lead when required.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide practical health and safety advice to site management, supervisors and subcontractors.

  • Undertake site inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.

  • Review RAMS and support the implementation of safe systems of work.

  • Work closely with operational teams to identify risks and implement appropriate controls.

  • Support incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.

  • Attend site meetings, engage with contractors and communicate safety expectations.

  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and support wider site compliance requirements.

  • Deputise for the senior safety lead when required.

What we''re looking for

You''ll need a solid background in construction health and safety, ideally gained on sizeable, complex construction projects.

We''re looking for someone who is pragmatic, driven and comfortable making decisions, with the communication skills to engage effectively with everyone from site operatives through to senior management.

Ideally, you''ll have:

  • Strong construction safety experience.

  • A recognised health and safety qualification, preferably NEBOSH Construction.

  • Experience working alongside principal contractors and subcontractors.

  • Good working knowledge of CDM Regulations, RAMS and construction risk management.

  • Strong written communication, reporting and IT skills.

  • The confidence and technical credibility to work with limited supervision.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working full-time on site in Cardiff.

Why consider this opportunity?

The project offers the chance to gain further experience on a substantial construction development, with an established site team and a programme currently extending into 2028.

The initial fixed-term appointment will be for a minimum of six months, with the potential for further work depending on project requirements.
