Fire Safety Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Safety Manager to join Ipswich Borough Council''s Housing Directorate, taking responsibility for fire safety compliance across approximately 8,000 council homes, including sheltered housing schemes and homeless family units.

You will lead the delivery of fire safety standards, ensuring full compliance with relevant fire legislation and regulations while supporting major fire safety improvement programmes across the housing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure full fire safety compliance across the council''s housing stock.
• Oversee fire safety inspections, testing, servicing and maintenance of housing assets.
• Provide specialist fire engineering advice and technical expertise.
• Support and oversee major fire safety improvement contracts.
• Ensure fire safety strategies are implemented effectively and regulatory standards are met.
• Manage and support the professional development of a Fire Safety Surveyor.
• Work collaboratively with the wider Safety & Compliance team to maintain safe homes for tenants.

About You:

• Relevant fire safety qualifications and professional experience.
• Proven track record in a similar Fire Safety Management role.
• Strong knowledge of fire legislation, regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience in fire risk management, inspections and remedial works.
• Ability to provide technical fire engineering advice and manage contractors.
