Export Sales

Smiths Advanced Metals supplies high-quality metals for specialist uses in some of the world’s most demanding industries, including aerospace, defence and precision engineering. We combine expert product knowledge with good service and reliable on-time delivery. We’re looking for an Export Sales Executive to look after our international customers, mainly across Europe.

What you’ll do

• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing export customers
• Find and win new customers in international markets
• Prepare accurate quotes and follow them up quickly until you get an answer
• Negotiate prices, lead times and terms
• Handle export paperwork and compliance with our logistics team
• Keep the CRM up to date with every call, quote and opportunity
• Report on your sales, pipeline and targets to the Sales Manager
• Attend a few international trade shows and customer visits each year

What you’ll need

• At least 2 years in a sales role where you personally won new customers and worked to targets
• Good negotiation skills and confidence on the phone with buyers
• Experience building and managing your own sales pipeline
• Accuracy with quotes, pricing and paperwork
• Experience using a CRM and Microsoft Office
• A full UK driving licence and a valid passport
• You live within commuting distance of Huntingdon

It would help if you have

• French or Italian at business level
• Experience in metals, engineering or industrial products
• Knowledge of export documentation and Incoterms
