This talent pool is suitable for candidates experienced in guiding groups of young people who want flexible school work. A Cover Supervisor would ensure pupils complete work set by their teachers and maintain orderly learning without undertaking full teacher-level planning.

Role Details

• Location: Winchester, Hampshire
• Pay: -80120 per day
• Start: ASAP bookings, subject to registration and safeguarding checks
• Setting: Secondary schools, Key Stages 3 and 4
• Contract: Flexible daily and short-term classroom supervision

Supervising Pre-set Lessons

• A Cover Supervisor will explain the instructions for pre-prepared activities and help pupils start promptly.
• The Cover Supervisor will maintain classroom expectations, manage transitions and follow school behaviour policies.
• As a Cover Supervisor, you may supervise different KS3 and KS4 subjects and refer specialist questions to permanent staff.
• A successful Cover Supervisor will monitor engagement and provide concise feedback on work completed.
• Follow attendance, safeguarding and escalation procedures throughout each assignment.

What We''re Looking For in a Cover Supervisor

• Previous Cover Supervisor or school experience, or credible transferable group supervision, tutoring, youth work, coaching or mentoring experience.
• Confidence communicating with secondary-age pupils and setting consistent boundaries.
• Calm judgement, punctuality and adaptability across subjects and year groups.
• Sound safeguarding awareness and willingness to follow pre-set work.
