Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - Tier 1 Main Contractor

My client, a leading Tier 1 main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering major construction projects, is looking to appoint an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure to high-value projects, work alongside an experienced commercial team, and develop their career within a well-established contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the commercial aspects of construction packages from procurement through to final account.

• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, valuations and financial updates.

• Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including tender analysis and commercial negotiations.

• Assess variations, change orders and applications for payment.

• Monitor project expenditure, identify commercial risks and support cost control.

• Build strong working relationships with project managers, subcontractors and clients.

• Ensure contractual procedures and commercial reporting requirements are maintained.

Requirements:

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or reputable construction business.

• Good understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.

• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant equivalent qualification preferred.
