Our client is a specialist fa-ades contractor delivering projects across the building envelope sector, with a strong focus on fa-ade remediation and recladding works.

Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of projects, they are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with experience in fa-ades, cladding or remediation to join a growing specialist contractor and play a key role in the successful financial delivery of projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of fa-ade projects from procurement and contract administration through to final account settlement.

The position would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to progress or an established Senior Quantity Surveyor capable of taking ownership of multiple projects and supporting the wider commercial function.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of fa-ade, cladding and remediation projects.

• Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.

• Managing valuations, applications for payment, variations and change control.

• Negotiating and agreeing subcontractor and supplier accounts.

• Preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts.

• Monitoring project costs, cash flow and commercial performance.

• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost savings.

• Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

• Working closely with project managers, estimators, site teams and clients.

• Supporting procurement activities and the appointment of subcontractors and suppliers.

• Resolving commercial issues and helping to protect project margins.

• Ensuring accurate commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Essential:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction.

• Experience working within fa-ades, cladding, building envelope or a closely related specialist contractor.

• Knowledge of fa-ade remediation and recladding projects.

• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts.

• Experience managing valuations, variations, procurement and final accounts.

• Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work to project deadlines.

Desirable:

• Experience working for a specialist fa-ade or remediation contractor.

• Knowledge of rainscreen cladding, curtain walling, glazing and associated building envelope systems.

• Experience with occupied-building remediation and high-rise recladding projects.

• Familiarity with JCT and/or NEC contracts.

• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.
