Senior Planning OfficerSouth London Local Authority 45+ per hour (DOE) Initial 6-Month Contract Likely Extension Hybrid Working AvailableAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planning Officer to join a busy Development Management team within a well-established South London local authority.Due to a sustained workload and continuing development activity across the borough, the council is seeking an experienced planner to manage a varied caseload of planning applications and contribute to the delivery of high-quality development outcomes.The RoleYou will be responsible for handling a diverse caseload of planning applications, appeals and associated development management work. The position offers exposure to a wide range of schemes, from minor residential developments through to complex major applications.Key responsibilities will include:Managing a varied caseload of planning applications from validation through to determination.Preparing detailed officer reports and recommendations.Conducting site visits and negotiating with applicants, agents and stakeholders.Providing professional planning advice to members, applicants and members of the public.Representing the authority at committees, hearings and appeals where required.Supporting the delivery of sustainable growth and regeneration objectives across the borough.About YouThe successful candidate will possess:Previous experience working within a UK local authority Development Management team.A strong ..... full job details .....
