Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join their team based in Stevenage, supporting the delivery of projects across their UKPN framework. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional to manage multiple utility and infrastructure projects, ensuring robust commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of several schemes valued between -1m and -4m, working closely with operational teams and key stakeholders to maximise commercial performance and project outcomes.

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple projects valued between -1m and -4m.
• Oversee cost management, forecasting, valuations, and final accounts.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Monitor project performance against budgets and financial targets.
• Manage change control procedures, compensation events, and variations.
• Provide accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
• Support project teams with cost advice and commercial guidance.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies.

• Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager within utilities, power, energy, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding and practical experience of NEC3 Option A & C contracts.
• Experience managing projects with values ranging from -1m to -4m.
• Excellent commercial acumen and contract administration skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Previous experience working on UK Power Networks (UKPN) contracts or frameworks.
• Background in power, electricity distribution, or network infrastructure projects.
• Professional membership or working towards a recognised commercial qualification (RICS/CICES or similar).

This role offers the opportunity to play a key commercial role within a leading utilities framework, supporting the successful delivery of infrastructure projects across the UKPN network from the client''s Stevenage office. Candidates with strong NEC experience and a background in utilities or civil engineering environments are particularly encouraged to apply.
