School Kitchen Assistant

Adecco are currently looking for a number of School Kitchen Assistants to work for our clients across Bolton on a casual basis. Duties:Assisting in the preparation of simple meals and snacks (e.g. sandwiches, salads, baked goods)Serving food to students and staff in a polite and efficient mannerOperating the till and handling cash/card payments accuratelyEnsuring food hygiene and safety standards are maintained at all timesCleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularlyWashing up and maintaining cleanliness in the dining areaAssisting with stock rotation and checking deliveriesReporting any maintenance or safety issues to the kitchen supervisorSupporting the cook or chef with basic food prep tasksWearing appropriate protective clothing (e.g. apron, hairnet, gloves)Following school policies and procedures, including allergy and dietary requirementsHelping with setting up and clearing away before and after meal serviceRequirements:Food hygiene knowledge (Level 2 Food Safety Certificate is preferred)Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environmentExperience using a tillBasic numeracy skills (especially for operating a till and handling money)Ability to follow health and safety and food safety regulationsGood communication and interpersonal skillsPhysical fitness to carry out manual tasks (e.g. lifting, standing for long periods)Reliability and punctualityFriendly and approachable manner, especially when interacting with childrenDesired Requirements:Knowledge
