Salary: andpound;90 andndash; andpound;120 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role:
A highly regarded and inclusive school in Buckinghamshire is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments. You will play a key role in ensuring these students can fully access lessons, build communication skills, and develop independence in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons.
- Support students with HI through the use of radio aids, lip-reading strategies, and adapted resources.
- Deliver targeted interventions 1:1 or in small groups, promoting language, listening, and social skills.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), risk assessments, and therapy care programmes.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, families, and external specialists such as Teachers of the Deaf.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with hearing impairments or a strong interest in developing skills in this area.
- Good knowledge of SEN and inclusive teaching strategies.
- British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1andndash;3 or Makaton training (desirable).
- Experience supporting phonics (particularly with pupils using cochlear implants).
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a proactive approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
