Operations Manager

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) project works. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving operational efficiency in the delivery of M&E services
Key Responsibilities
- Attend regular project progress and design review meetings as required. Contribute to project planning activities and to track progress.
- Produce Bill of Materials from drawings for estimating and purchasing.
- To undertake site surveys to aid costing or design.
- Contribute to cost reduction and value engineering on projects, where required
- Order materials, manage small team of electricians, complete timesheets, conduct HSE audits, accident investigations and propose corrective actions where necessary.
- Work cohesively and communicate effectively with March departments including Engineering, Manufacturing, Labour, and onward supply chain.
- Work with the client’s team members during the project and attend regular meetings.
- Ensure that installation of electrical systems is correct to specification.
- Contribute to the estimating process using March QA templates.
- To identify and to appropriately capture project variations.
- Work in accordance with March Process Services Quality Assurance systems and processes to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ensure that the project specific quality, and legislative, requirements are met.
- You may, on occasions, be required to carry out additional duties, within the context of this job and according to company needs.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working within and electrical small works contract environment
- Experience working in hygienic industries (i.e. food, beverage, pharmaceutical).
- Has experience using MS Project or similar.
- Can interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, GA’s, cable block diagrams, cable/terminal lists
Specific Qualifications
- 18th Edition
- Full UK Driving license
