Senior Financial Accountant - Publishing Leading Publishing House are looking for a qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA Financial Accountant with 2 years PQE to own the financial accounting areas and ensure balance sheet integrity, tax compliance and accounting accuracy. Key responsibilities: Lead inventory and stock accounting including reconciliations and provisionsSupport group reporting, FPM reconciliations and hard-close processesPrepare UK and overseas tax analysis and returns including CT, VAT and withholding taxesPrepare statutory accounts, audit packs and year-end accounting schedulesReview monthly balance sheet reconciliations and complex journalsLead VAT/GST preparation and review processPrepare and review payroll journals and overseas tax filingsProvide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to junior finance team membersOwn technical accounting judgements and supporting documentationContribute to internal controls development and periodic reviewsIdentify efficiency opportunities across month-end, reporting and reconciliation processesDevelop and maintain finance SOPs and control documentationDraft accounting papers or memos to document positions takenLead or contribute to finance projects such as system upgrades, automation initiatives or policy changesSupport finance leadership with one-off analysis, modelling or insight to inform business decisions.
