• Qaulified teacher of Media and English, ideally with Head of Department experienceQaulified teacher of Media and English, ideally with Head of Department experienceA good degree in a related subjectClear evidence of continuing professional developmentExperience teaching Media to KS4 and KS5Clear evidence of successful teaching across the full ability and age range at examination levelEvidence of ability to raise achievement of targeted groups (e.g. Higher attainers, SEN, EAL, boys, FSM)Experience in a multi-cultural environmentUp to date knowledge of the National Curriculum and ongoing developments in education, teaching and learningEffective organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlinesAbility to gather, analyse and interpret data to establish benchmarks and set challenging targets for improvementDynamic and innovative approach to teaching and learning developments within a departmentAbility to assess and promote students’ progress in a variety of waysExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsConfident use of ICTAbility to lead and influence othersAbility to build positive working relationships with colleagues and provide support through coaching/line managementHigh level of written, oral and presentational skills and excellent organisational skillsAbility to carry out lesson observations, provide feedback and set suitable targetsAbility to lead, manage and implement changes to curriculumAbility to motivate and effectively manage students in large groups and individuallyNegotiating skills and the wisdom to delegate appropriatelyWhat the school offers its staff
