A specialist SEN school in Reading is looking for a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join its team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of complex learning needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), communication difficulties and associated behavioural needs.

As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils who require additional assistance throughout the school day. Working closely with experienced teachers and specialist staff, you will help children access learning, develop essential life skills and build confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.

As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex needs
• Assist teachers in delivering an adapted and accessible curriculum
• Encourage communication, social interaction and independence
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and sensory needs
• Adapt learning activities to accommodate individual abilities and development
• Help create a structured, safe and stimulating learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other SEN professionals

The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate and proactive, with a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs. Previous experience in SEN education, healthcare, childcare, residential care or supporting individuals with complex needs would be highly beneficial.
