Health and Safety Manager
An experienced Health & Safety Manager is required to lead and manage all safety, health and wellbeing activities on a major nuclear and civil infrastructure project in Whitehaven. The role focuses on ensuring full compliance with UK legislation, nuclear site requirements and project safety standards within a highly regulated environment.

This role would suit an experienced Health & Safety professional who thrives in complex, safety-critical environments such as nuclear, infrastructure or major construction projects. It would particularly appeal to someone confident working with senior stakeholders, managing subcontractors and promoting a proactive safety culture while ensuring strict regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the project Health & Safety Management System.
- Provide expert safety advice to the Project Director and senior leadership team.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities to ensure full compliance.
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
- Review and monitor RAMS, construction safety documentation and high-risk activities on site.
Requirements.
- Proven experience in Senior Health & Safety positions.
- Previous experience on Nuclear related projects.
- NEBOSH certified
- CMIOSH highly desirable
- Lead Auditor certified desirable
Location: Whitehaven
Permanent: Full Time, 40 hrs
Salary: circa -71k (dependent on experience) + -5.7k Car Allowance
