Job Title : Gas Engineer 

Location: Manchester 

North West (Mobile Role)

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

(40 hours per week)

Salary:

Up to £45,000 per annum + benefits & overtime

The Opportunity

Build Recruitment is currently working with a reputable and long-established building services provider that delivers technical FM solutions across the UK. We are looking for a Gas Engineer with a strong background in both reactive and planned maintenance, ready to join a growing team in the North West region.

This is a mobile role that will see you working across a variety of commercial sites, including retail, leisure, education, and office premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance on commercial HVAC systems.

   

   

• Diagnose and repair faults on heating systems, including pumps, AHUs, pressurisation units, etc.

   

   

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and complete all associated documentation.

   

   

• Maintain high standards of safety and compliance in all work undertaken.

   

   

• Participate in an on-call rota (typically 1 in 14).

   

   

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential:

• Strong understanding of commercial heating systems.

   

   

• Commercial gas qualifications (ACS).

   

   

• Experience in maintenance, fault-finding, and installation work.

   

   

• Excellent knowledge of gas regulations and health & safety best practices.

   

   

• Good plumbing and control systems knowledge.

   

   

• Basic electrical safety knowledge.

   

   

• Full UK driving licence.

   

   

Desirable:

• Domestic gas qualifications

   

   

• Oil boiler experience

   

   

• 18th Edition

   

   

• BMS control experience

   

   

• Unvented hot water certification
