A Local Authority in Bedfordshire is looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join their team at an exciting time of change. Key Responsibilities

• Protect tenants'' health, safety and wellbeing by investigating complaints relating to poor housing conditions and identifying potential hazards.
• Ensure homes are safe and legally compliant by carring out HHSRS inspections.
• Improve living conditions and prevent issues from escalating by working collaboratively with landlords and tenants to resolve housing concerns.
• Hold landlords accountable and ensure that hazards are addressed by taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary.
• Promote compliance and prevent future housing issues by providing clear advie and guidance on housing regulations and legal responsibilities.

About You

You''ll be a proactive Private Sector Housing professional with a passion for improving living conditions and protecting tenants who brings:

• Experience within a Local Authority''s PSH function.
• Knowledge of housing legislation, property standards and enforcement procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively with landlords, tenants and external organisations.
• Preferably an Environmental Health degree.
