Salary: M1–UPS3 (£34,398–£52,490, pro rata)
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Harpenden for a full-time, one-term position starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school community and make a meaningful impact in a Key Stage 2 classroom. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, well-planned lessons that inspire pupils, encourage high standards of achievement and support their academic, social and emotional development.

- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents/carers.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Uphold the school''s safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply and will be fully supported.
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5, is desirable.
- A secure understanding of the National Curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A positive, proactive and reflective approach to teaching.
