Project Manager - Highways & Motorway Technology
Location: Bristol
Rate: £500 per day
Payment: LTD Company payment available
Accommodation: Provided where required
Contract Duration: Approximately 6 months
 
The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major highways infrastructure scheme based in the Bristol area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced highways professional to take responsibility for the successful delivery of works across a live motorway environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in highways construction and ideally experience working on motorway technology and intelligent transport systems (ITS) projects.
 
The role is expected to run for approximately 6 months, with an immediate start available.
 
Key Responsibilities
·Managing the day-to-day delivery of highways and motorway technology works.
·Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
·Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
·Planning and coordinating construction activities and resources.
·Monitoring progress against programme and reporting on project performance.
·Managing site documentation, records and project reporting.
·Liaising with the client, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
·Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
·Identifying and managing project risks, issues and changes.
·Supporting the commercial management of works where required.
·Ensuring construction activities are properly planned and coordinated within a live motorway environment.
 
Scope of Works
The successful Project Manager will oversee works including:
·Installation of motorway technology infrastructure, including ducting, chambers and cabinet sites.
·Installation of traffic signs, including fixed text message signs.
·Piled foundations for selected sign installations.
·Installation of ANPR cameras and associated masts.
·Installation of enforcement cameras and masts.
·Minor earthworks and kerbing.
·Coordination of associated civils and highways works.
 
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
·Proven experience as a Project Manager within the highways sector.
·Experience managing works within a live motorway or major highways environment.
·Ideally, previous experience with motorway technology, ITS or highways technology schemes.
·Strong understanding of highways construction and site delivery.
·Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and multiple workstreams.
·Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
·Good organisational and planning abilities.
·A strong commitment to health and safety.
·The ability to manage works from planning through to completion.
