We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Transport Operator / Transport Manager to join our client who are based in Felixstowe. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient and cost-effective operation of the transport department, coordinating drivers and vehicles, maintaining compliance and delivering excellent levels of customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong transport background who can work independently, manage a busy operation and bring a proactive approach to the role. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily running of transport operations. Plan, organise and coordinate daily vehicle schedules and deliveries. Manage and coordinate drivers, ensuring workloads are distributed effectively. Monitor vehicle movements and ensure collections and deliveries are completed on time. Ensure compliance with transport legislation, drivers'' hours and working time regulations. Maintain vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections and service records. Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments. Resolve any operational issues, delays or transport-related problems. Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Ensure all transport documentation and records are maintained accurately.
