Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Islington Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate PAYE which is negotiable dependent upon experience We are looking for an Civil Contingency Officer this role will be based at: Hybrid Working, 222 Upper Street, London, Islington, N1 1XR The right candidate will: To support the delivery of the Council''s statutory responsibilities for emergency planning, civil protection and organisational resilience, ensuring the Council is prepared to respond effectively to major incidents, emergencies and unforeseen events. Support the Council in fulfilling its statutory duties as a Category 1 Responder under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of corporate and divisional emergency plans and business continuity arrangements. Participate in the Council''s 24/7 corporate emergency response arrangements, undertaking duties within the crisis response on-call rota. Support the mobilisation and coordination of the Corporate Emergency Response Team, comprising over 100 trained personnel. Work collaboratively with emergency services, neighbouring local authorities, government agencies and other relevant partners.
