Design Manager – Public Sector / DfE Framework Projects

Location: London

We are currently looking to speak with experienced Design Managers who have a strong background in delivering public sector construction projects, ideally with experience working on Department for Education (DfE) frameworks or other public sector frameworks.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager with a main contractor or consultancy background who understands the requirements, processes and challenges associated with delivering projects within the public sector.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process across a range of projects, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams to ensure designs are developed and delivered in line with programme, budget and quality requirements.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Design Manager within the construction industry.

• Experience working on DfE framework projects or other public sector frameworks.

• Strong understanding of public sector procurement and framework delivery requirements.

• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.

• Strong design coordination and technical management capabilities.

• Experience managing design programmes, design risks and technical submissions.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and project delivery teams.

• Must be London-based or within a commutable distance of London.

Who We're Looking For

We are keen to speak with proactive and driven Design Managers who have a proven track record of delivering projects within the public sector.

Candidates with direct DfE framework experience would be particularly attractive, although experience across other public sector frameworks will also be considered.

We are open to candidates from both Main Contractor and Consultancy backgrounds, provided they have the relevant project experience.
