Food Technology Technician

Salary: -100 - -130 per day, depending on experience
Working hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Brief description: A supportive secondary school is seeking a reliable Food Technology Technician to join their team from January, with an earlier start available. This is a great opportunity for someone with school-based experience and a strong awareness of health and safety.

About the role: The successful candidate will support the Food Technology department with lesson preparation, equipment management, stock control, and maintaining a safe learning environment. Previous Food Technology Technician experience is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with school-based support or technician experience are encouraged to apply.

We''re looking for a dedicated candidate to:

• Prepare materials, ingredients and equipment for practical lessons
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and safety within the Food Technology area
• Assist teaching staff with lesson setup and clear down
• Monitor and manage stock levels and place orders when required
• Ensure equipment is maintained and stored correctly
• Follow food hygiene and health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements -

The ideal candidate would have:

• Previous experience working within a school environment
• Technician experience in a school, laboratory, workshop, Food Technology department or similar setting
• A good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
