Astute Recruitment are working with an established business in Derby to recruit a Finance Assistant on a permanent basis. Working closely with the Financial Controller, this is a varied role offering the opportunity to develop beyond transactional finance, gaining exposure to month-end, management accounts, financial reporting, stock and costings. The Role Will Involve: Assisting with month-end and the preparation of management accounts Preparing journals and completing balance sheet reconciliations Analysing financial information and investigating variances Supporting stock reconciliations, valuations and costings Reviewing costs and helping identify discrepancies Processing Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger transactions Managing supplier reconciliations, customer queries and credit control Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the Financial Controller with wider accounting projects The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience in an accounts or finance role Good understanding of core accounting principles, including Purchase and Sales Ledger Keen to develop technical accounting skills across month-end, management accounts and costings Strong Excel, analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and good organisational skills Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Benefits and Hours: Salary up to 29,000 depending on experience 37.5-hour working week with flexibility around core hours Monday to ..... full job details .....
