Junior Data Engineer 6 Month FTCUp to £45,000 (pro rata)London (5-days on-site)A private investment firm is hiring a Junior Data Engineer to join a lean, high-performing research team as part of a long-term data transformation programme.The firm is evolving its operating model to become more data-driven, with plans to overhaul manual processes and embed technology deeper into its deal-making strategy. With a 5-year roadmap ahead and strong backing, this is an opportunity to shape the foundation of a modern data platform from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Building ETL pipelines to automate ingestion of fragmented internal and external data

Migrating legacy data from spreadsheets into a cloud-native environment

Supporting strategic analysis and research projects through structured data workflows

Developing internal tools and dashboards to surface insights

Helping integrate business systems over time to streamline decision-making

You will have the following

1 year of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering; proficiency in Python and SQL

Exposure to modern data stacks (e.g. AWS, Snowflake, Tableau)

Excellent attention to detail, structured thinking, and a strong willingness to learn

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
