The Role
An Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher to join its successful department from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term supply basis.
The successful candidate will teach Computer Science and ICT across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that develop students' understanding of programming, computational thinking, cyber security, computer systems, networks, and digital technologies. You will inspire students to develop practical and theoretical skills while preparing them for success in their GCSE Computer Science qualifications.
As part of a supportive department, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and creating an inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence and problem-solving skills. You will maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement while contributing to the continued success of the department.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification; ECTs are welcome to apply
- Have experience teaching Computer Science and/or ICT at secondary level
- Be confident delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Have a strong understanding of the current Computer Science and ICT curriculum
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Be committed to raising student achievement and supporting learner progress
- Have a passion for technology and preparing young people for an increasingly digital world
