Purchase Ledger Clerk

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk who is ideally already studying towards their AAT. We would be happy to welcome appplications for full time candidates or candidates looking for school hours. This is a brand new role within this busy, well established client and there are opportunities for growth.The Purchase Ledger Clerk is responsible for managing the day-to-day processing of supplier invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining supplier account records. This role supports the finance team by ensuring the purchase ledger is up to date, accurate, and complies with internal policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities Process high volumes of purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct coding to cost centresReconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely mannerPrepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs (BACS, CHAPS, or cheques)Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier accountsHandle supplier queries efficiently and professionallyAssist with month-end closing procedures related to the purchase ledgerEnsure all invoices are approved in line with the company s authorization policySupport audits by providing relevant documentation as neededMaintain filing systems for accounts payable records, both digital and paper basedCollaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, operations) to ensure smooth processing of purchase transactions Skills and Experience Strong attention to detail and accur
