Project Manager - Rail

My client, a successful family owned Civil Engineering and Rail contractor are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager, to join their multi-disciplinary team in Leeds.
You will be part of a successful and growing business with over 300 permanent staff based across the UK and over 30 year''s worth of expertise in the Civil Engineering sector.
As a Project Manager (Design) you will be responsible for the coordination of permanent and temporary works design and the interface with the construction teams. Working on framework contracts for Network Rail and other clients, projects will include a wide variety of design and build schemes including structures, earthworks and drainage disciplines.
Working with our engineering team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of technical and engineering activities.
Reviewing and approving design submissions, liaising with design consultants and our in-house delivery teams, and contributing to monthly meetings with our client''s project team to progress design projects to a successful conclusion.
A key function of the role will be reviewing sub-contract designer''s deliverables to ensure designs fulfil the clients remit and comply with the standards and regulations applicable to the contract, considering constructability, third party interfaces and Safe by Design principles.
Knowledge of railway standards and demonstrable experience delivering projects in a rail environment is an advantage.
The location is flexible between our offices in Leeds and Sheffield and there will be the possibility of some working from home once the successful candidate has become established within the company.
The role will provide exposure to all kinds of engineering problems on the railway infrastructure, where you will play a key role in developing renewals and maintenance solutions for bridges, culverts, earthworks, platforms, station buildings and much more!
