Supply teaching offers excellent flexibility while allowing you to build relationships with local schools. Day-to-day bookings can also develop into longer-term placements when the right opportunity becomes available.

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
• Follow work and lesson plans provided by the school
• Adapt teaching to support pupils with different abilities and needs
• Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom
• Create an inclusive environment in which pupils feel supported
• Assess learning and provide feedback to school staff
• Follow the school’s policies and safeguarding procedures
• Provide pupils with consistency during their teacher’s absence

The successful Primary Teacher will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status/QTS
• Have a strong understanding of the UK Primary Curriculum
• Be confident teaching across the primary age range
• Have effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• Be passionate, inclusive and supportive
• Be adaptable and able to settle quickly into new schools
• Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
• Understand safeguarding, KCSIE and the Prevent Duty, or be willing to complete relevant CPD training
