A number of our previous LSAs have subsequently completed teacher training programmes through one of the Teaching Schools. After qualifying, many have secured permanent teaching positions with the training school, often rising quickly to positions of additional responsibility.ABOUT THE ROLE

Working closely with the SENCO, SaLT, and other experienced teaching professionals providing support and guidance, your role will be to:Implement personalised learning programmes with individual students/groups in or outside lessonsAssist teachers in planning lessons and resources for a particular subject areaEnhance the provision for students by taking responsibility for specific long-term projects or short-term learning activitiesSupport teachers in monitoring pupils and assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil achievement, progress, and development.PERSON SPECIFICATION – WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Excellent degree (minimum 2.1) in a relevant subject

(we are particularly interested to hear from Maths, Science, Music, and PE graduates)Genuine and demonstrable interest in working with young people and educationCommitment to achievement for all, regardless of background or abilityExcellent literacy and communication skillsAbility to lend subject-specialism to the learning and development of secondary-school pupilsEnthusiasm, initiative, resilience, and pro-activityWillingness to learn and participate in a dynamic educational settingAbility to be a role model to young peopleNo prior teaching, educational training, or qualification is necessary. Experience of working with young people is desirable but not essential.
