About the Role

We are recruiting for an innovative engineering specialist in Buckinghamshire looking for a Design Engineer to join their growing team. In this role, you will lead the mechanical design of cutting-edge powertrain systems and components across R&D and high-profile customer programs.

What You''ll Do

• Design innovative 3D parametric models and manufacturing drawings for mechanical, thermal, and fluid systems.

• Apply first-principles engineering calculations and interpret FEA results to validate and optimise your designs.

• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and ensure high standards.

• Assist with DFMEAs, root-cause investigations into mechanical failures, and continuous cost/complexity reduction.

What We''re Looking For

• Education: Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering (BEng/BSc essential).

• Technical Skills: Strong background in 1st principles engineering, 3D parametric CAD, and FEA interpretation.

• Core Experience: Hands-on experience designing mechanical, thermal, or fluid components.

• Desirable Extras: Experience with CATIA V5/V6, electric motors/inverters, mechatronics, or GD&T (BS8888/ASME Y14.5).

• Requirements: Full UK driving license with flexibility for local site travel.
