Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Shift: 4 on 3 off (Sunday cover required) | Flexible hours between 06:00 - 19:00

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a growing food manufacturing business in Middlesbrough. Operating from a modern production facility, you''ll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by carrying out reactive maintenance, fault finding and small engineering improvements across a range of manufacturing equipment.

This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys a varied workload. The role is heavily focused on breakdown response and problem solving rather than routine PPMs, making it well suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

You''ll also support machinery installations, general engineering improvements and occasional site maintenance, working closely with production to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

Sector – Food Manufacturing

• Multi-Skilled Maintenance experience.
• Engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent).
• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Basic PLC fault-finding knowledge (Inputs/Outputs).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.

• Electrical fault finding (3-phase, motors, sensors and inverters).
• Motor wiring and testing.
• Mechanical maintenance including bearings, belts, chains and pneumatics.
• Reactive breakdown maintenance.
• Small machinery installations and modifications.
• Production machinery maintenance.
• Continuous Improvement mindset.
• Good communication and Health & Safety awareness.

• Electrical bias.
• Food or FMCG manufacturing experience.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
