A civil engineering contractor is seeking a number of experienced freelance Site Engineers to support delivery on a major highways project in Oxfordshire. This is a key site-based role, working closely with the Site Agent and wider team to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

· Setting out for highways and infrastructure works
· Assisting with daily site operations and supporting subcontractors
· Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications
· Maintaining accurate site records, QA documentation, and reports
· Supporting health & safety and quality compliance on site
· Liaising with the Site Agent, design teams, and commercial staff
· Carrying out surveys and resolving technical issues on site

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering
· Strong background in highways and infrastructure projects
· Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications
· Competent in setting out using GPS, total station, and levelling equipment
· HNC (or higher) in Civil Engineering or related discipline
· CSCS card (essential)

Desirable

· Experience working under NEC contracts
· AutoCAD knowledge
· SMSTS or SSSTS
· First Aid qualification
