You will be responsible for shaping, guiding, and overseeing the delivery of digital initiatives to transform how work is done and how customers interact with services, enabling informed decision-making and ensuring governance and assurance are embedded across complex programmes.You will develop roadmaps and high-value initiatives, guide teams through planning and assurance, maintain momentum, and ensure alignment with organisational objectives while reducing risk and enabling the organisation to achieve its goals with confidence.Responsibilities
Shape, guide and oversee the delivery of digital initiativesIntegrate insights across delivery, finance, architecture, and serviceDevelop roadmaps and high-value initiatives; guide planning and assuranceMaintain momentum across complex programmes; ensure governance and assurance are embeddedDrive better services, reduce risk, and prioritise effectivelyWhat skills, knowledge and experience you will need
Exceptional leadership skills with experience within large-scale digital portfolios in a complex organisationExperience shaping and influencing digital strategic planning and prioritiesExperience improving portfolio processes (prioritisation, tracking, reporting) and embedding consistent practicesProven ability to anticipate delivery risks and take decisive action to protect outcomesStrong analytical skills with experience using data analysis tools and interpreting portfolio dataAbility to visualise data and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholdersExperience building relationships across organisational boundaries with diverse senior stakeholdersManagement of Portfolios (Practitioner) / P3O / MSP / PMI qualifications (or equivalent) per the required standardsDetails. Youll join in one of our digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient.Hybrid Working:
Hybrid model — some time at home and some time in a hub.Pay:
Competitive pay of £57,946. Civil Service Jobs displays the current band minimum of £55,557, increasing to £57,946 as of September 1.Pension:
Civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, up to £16,094.Holidays:
26 days rising to 31 days over time; up to 3 extra flexi-time days per month plus public holidays.Benefits:
