Overview:-

This is a major-international transport and logistics business delivering reliable road freight solutions across the UK and Europe. They-are now looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to win new business and build their road freight offering.

This is a new business-focused position. You will spend most of your time finding, pitching and winning new customers for-UK and European road freight services, while also growing a portfolio of existing accounts.

Key responsibilities:

• Generate new business for UK and European road freight, including LCL, FTL and groupage.
• Self-generate leads through networking, cold calling, social selling, referrals and market research
• Build and manage a strong pipeline from first contact through to closed deal
• Prepare tailored quotes, tenders and proposals in conjunction with the operations and pricing teams
• Manage and grow existing accounts, identifying opportunities to increase volume and add services
• Develop long-term relationships with customers, building trust and repeat business
• Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records in the CRM
• Work with operations and customer service teams so that customer commitments are delivered

About you:

• Proven background in selling road freight services, with a track record of winning new business.
• Strong knowledge of UK and European road freight, including LCL, FTL and groupage.
• Comfortable with cold outreach and self-generating your own leads.
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially minded, with a good understanding of pricing, margins and customer needs.
• Organised and self-motivated, able to manage your own pipeline and priorities.
• Proficient with CRM systems.
