New Opportunity – Electrical Design Engineer (Systems Integration)
Are you an Electrical Design Engineer with experience in the aviation industry? Do you have a strong background in electrical systems integration, wiring schematics, and aircraft modification projects?

Our client, a specialist aviation engineering organisation based in Spondon, is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the design and integration of electrical and avionics systems across a range of aircraft modification and certification programmes.

Experience within a Part 21 Design Organisation or on STC programmes would be highly advantageous; however, candidates must have previous experience working within the aviation sector.

As the new Electrical Design Engineer, you will:

• Produce wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and installation drawings for aircraft modification projects
• Design and integrate electrical and avionics systems into existing aircraft platforms
• Develop electrical interconnection and systems integration documentation
• Support aircraft surveys and gather technical information for modification programmes
• Work closely with design, certification, and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Identify and resolve electrical integration challenges across multiple aircraft systems
• Support aircraft modification, retrofit, and certification activities
• Travel internationally to support customer projects when required

Main Requirements for This Role

• Previous experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or Electrical Systems Integration Engineer within the aviation industry
• Strong understanding of aircraft electrical systems integration and system-level electrical design
• Experience producing wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
• Proficiency using AutoCAD
• Ability to manage interfaces between multiple aircraft electrical and avionics systems
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally

Desirable Experience

• Part 21 Design Organisation experience
• Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) programmes
• Aircraft modification or retrofit projects
• Avionics systems integration
• EWIS or aircraft electrical installation design
• Aircraft survey experience
• Aviation certification and compliance activities

  
What you can expect in return:

• Salary of £45,000–£70,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Monday to Friday working pattern (09:00–17:30)
