Click here for our Careers and Life at JCB pagesAbout the role: The Information Security team is responsible for ensuring that JCB has the correct level of security integrity to protect our systems, information, personal data and people from cyber-attacks and unauthorised access. We are looking for a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to join our on-site Information Security team. This role is vital in ensuring the security and resilience of our IT systems. You will work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure existing systems are improved and new systems are implemented to continuously improve our security posture.What does this role involve day to day?Responsibilities

Lead and support various IT security projects, ensuring secure, timely, and effective project deliveryLead and support on various business projects that need IT Security input such as architecture or designManaging and maintaining cybersecurity tools to ensure strong, up-to-date defences across our on-prem and cloud and SaaS environmentsCollaborate with internal IT and third-party teams to embed security into all aspects of our operationsLead on Incident Response activities and feed into wider process for continuous improvementsAdvise on security implications of new technologies and contributing to long-term strategic decisions such as the Roadmap and Risk RegisterMonitor and respond to security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities in real-time - seek out ways to improveAssist with Security and Internal investigationsSupport compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, and Cyber Essentials Plus.Providing day-to-day support on security-related issues and ensuring changes follow robust change control processesMaintain and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.Assist with internal and external audits and remediation activities.Seek out and exploit opportunities for improvement to the group’s overall security posture.Qualifications

You''re passionate about cyber security and keeping up with the latest trends, threats and mitigationsYou''re able to manage large global complex projects and technical input and guidance.You have a proven experience in hands-on cyber security engineering or similar roleYou have strong knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, and threat detection/protection.You have a strong understanding of security frameworks and standards such as NIST and Cyber Essentials.You have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment.You''re an excellent communicator and have strong stakeholder engagement skills -ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiencesYou have the ability to assess risk, identify vulnerabilities, and implement effective mitigation strategies – seek out continuous improvementYou can demonstrate practical experience with a range of security tools and platforms, both on-premises and in cloud and SaaS environmentsYou have experience responding to security incidents and performing thorough root cause analysisYou have aproven IT background to understand and interpret findings and communicate to stakeholdersYou have a familiarity with OT environments is a plusYou have an understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, and Cyber EssentialsYou can show the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environmentYou have strong analytical and communication skills.You can demonstrate strong documentation abilitiesYou have an understanding of IT Service Management principles ideally ITIL.What happens next?
