Maintain our commitment to a global code base:

Proactively engage in peer reviews, inform stakeholders of breaking changes, and ensure the adoption of DevOps principles.

Data analysis and optimisation:

Undertake statistical profiling of dispersed datasets related to return on equity, identify opportunities to optimise profitability metrics, focusing on product pricing.

Credit framework leadership:

Provide thought leadership in designing and calibrating relevant credit frameworks.

Partner with client-facing teams:

Design capital and resource-efficient products, ensuring tools are available to monitor their performance.

Culture change and automation:

Support efforts to embed quantitative tooling into automated processes across asset classes increasingly driven by technology.

Stakeholder liaison:

Collaborate with Credit and Capital Management, Group Risk Analytics, and other global stakeholders (IT, Treasury, Finance, etc.).

Trusted advisory role:

Act as a trusted partner, providing constructive challenge.

Knowledge sharing:

Contribute to the Quants hub, sharing SME expertise and connecting teams.

Compliance:

Ensure adherence to HSBC''s Operational Effectiveness and Controls policies and compliance with internal and external regulations, including data access, AML, sanctions, and reputational risks.

Technical expertise:

Demonstrate expertise in Python, SAS, or similar coding languages.

Communication skills:

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Banking experience:

Have broad-based experience in financial services with an understanding of credit processes.

Stakeholder management:

Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Data analysis skills:

Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.

System design and coding:

Experience in code architecture, system design, optimization, and test-driven development.

API knowledge:

Working knowledge of Data Exchange APIs.

Commercial acumen:

Strong business sense, with experience in analytics, quant, or data functions.
