Tooling Design Engineer Pay: £45hr - £50hr (Umbrella) Location: Ampthill Contract: 6x Months Hours: 37.5 hours per week Pattern: 4x Flex (4-day week, Monday Thursday) Security Clearance: SC (Required to start) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Tooling Design Engineer to join a world class leading defence company based in Ampthill. This contract role sits within the Operations Engineering team, providing tooling and manufacturing engineering support across the full product lifecycle from concept design and prototype build through to full-rate production and end-of-life support. You will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of industrial tooling, jigs, fixtures, prototype models, and machine attachments used for both production and experimental applications. Key Responsibilities: Design and development of manufacturing tooling across technologies including NC machining, Composite layup, Mechanical assembly and fabrication. Full lifecycle CAD design using CREO, from concept through to production release Management of drawings and documentation via Windchill (PDM) Creation of Technical Requirement Specifications, Manufacturing BOMs and routings Detailed process instructions.
