We are working on behalf of a leading regional contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction projects across South Wales.

Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, our client is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of a Project Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, well-established business delivering projects ranging in value from -6 million to -20 million, offering long-term continuity of work and genuine career progression within a progressive and supportive environment.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will initially take commercial responsibility for a -7 million commercial development, managing the project under a JCT Design & Build contract.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking full commercial responsibility for a -7 million commercial construction project from inception through to final account.
• Managing the commercial administration of JCT Design & Build contracts.
• Preparing cost reports, forecasts, valuations, applications for payment and monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Procuring and managing subcontract packages, including valuations, payments and variations.
• Managing contractual changes, variations and associated commercial negotiations.
• Monitoring project costs, identifying commercial risks and implementing measures to maximise project profitability.
• Working closely with the Commercial Director, site teams and project managers to ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial objectives.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and supporting financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the general building or commercial construction sector and will possess a good understanding of commercial management and contract administration. Experience working under JCT Design & Build forms of contract is highly desirable, together with strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across project teams and the supply chain.
