Are you an experienced Health, Safety & Environment professional with a background in manufacturing and a good understanding of quality assurance?

Innova Search are proudly representing a global manufacturing business on their search for an ambitious, hands-on HSE & Quality Manager to take responsibility for Health, Safety, Environmental compliance, Facilities Management and Quality Assurance across a varied manufacturing operation.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key operational standards, influence the wider business and make a tangible difference to workplace safety, product quality and continuous improvement. You''ll play an important role within the Operations leadership team, helping to create a safe, efficient and quality-driven manufacturing environment.

The business operates across a range of manufacturing activities, including plastic moulding, laser printing, manufacturing, assembly and warehousing, offering plenty of variety in the role.

The Role

You''ll lead the development of a strong health and safety culture while ensuring the business maintains high standards of environmental compliance, facilities management and product quality.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Lead and develop the company''s health and safety strategy, promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the business.
  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and relevant environmental regulations.
  • Maintain and review risk assessments, safe systems of work and employee training programmes.
  • Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Carry out regular workplace inspections, safety audits and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee contractor safety and environmental compliance.

Facilities Management

  • Manage facilities maintenance activities and external contractors.
  • Ensure statutory inspections, servicing and certifications are completed.
  • Identify and implement facilities improvements and workplace projects.

Quality Assurance

  • Drive product and process quality across manufacturing operations.
  • Manage quality issues, non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor quality KPIs, including scrap, rework, defects and product performance.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to improve quality standards and inspection processes.
  • Ensure quality inspection equipment is appropriately calibrated and controlled.
  • Importantly, this is a hands-on quality assurance and performance role. Ownership of ISO certification and management systems is not part of the position.

What We''re Looking For

  • We''re interested in hearing from practical, proactive professionals who enjoy being visible on the shop floor, working with operational teams and driving improvements.
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety, HSE or H&S management position within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Good working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Experience of quality assurance, quality control or quality performance within manufacturing.
  • Experience managing non-conformances, audits, corrective actions and root cause analysis.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.

Desirable experience:

  • NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, CQI, Six Sigma or similar qualifications.
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience managing facilities, contractors and statutory compliance.

The Person

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and investigative abilities.
  • The confidence to challenge existing practices and influence positive change.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • A genuine passion for improving safety, quality and operational performance.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to take on a varied and influential position within a manufacturing business, with responsibility spanning HSE, quality assurance and facilities management.

You''ll have the opportunity to shape workplace safety standards, improve manufacturing quality and work closely with senior operational leadership to deliver meaningful improvements across the business.

If you''re an experienced HSE or Health & Safety professional with manufacturing quality experience and are looking for a broader operational leadership role, we''d like to hear from you.
