Role: The main purpose of the Tool Setter-Operator role within Injection Moulding is to support the Production technicians with tool changes when machines are waiting in order to reduce production down time and improve departmental OEE. Normal Production Operator tasks should be completed when there are a high volume of machines running. Responsibilities: Support Production Technicians with setting of injection mould tools and machine change over preparation Preparation for mould tool changes, including collection of mould tools from racking, selection of tool cylinders and water / oil pipes. Completion of mould tool changes in accordance with agreed standards and SSW. Basic machine operation (cores off/on, open/close, mould safety, heel blocks). Cleaning of tool back plates and machine platens. Support with product colour changes and end of run machine shutdown ensuring the barrel is purged through.
