Are you an organised, hands-on warehouse professional who thrives on accuracy, teamwork, and keeping things moving? If stock control, logistics, and problem-solving are your strengths, this could be the role for you.
We’re looking for a Stores Operative to play a key role in managing spare parts, supporting projects, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations in Kettering.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inventory Management: Receiving, booking in, and maintaining stock using SERVICE GEENI and SICON systems.
- Logistics: Picking, packing, and despatching spare parts, including maintaining photographic records.
- Project Support: Managing project spares for installation teams and liaising with accounts, purchasing, and third-party storage providers.
- Quality Control: Controlling warranty returns and managing supplier repairs.
- Auditing: Carrying out weekly and quarterly inventory audits and producing detailed reports.
- Operational Support: Expediting priority parts and supporting warehouse KPIs and general administration.
- External Support: Providing a 24-hour response for spare parts held at the external storage facility.
- Working in the warehouse area located directly behind the storefront. Because of the layout, you’ll frequently be in the same space as our customers. We ask that you remain approachable and ready to assist them with any quick questions regarding our inventory or item locations.
- Licences: A valid UK Driving Licence is required, as there may be a requirement to drive company vehicles once the role becomes permanent.
- Forklift Skills: You must have experience operating either Counterbalance or Reach trucks. (Note: We are happy to consider candidates with expired certificates).
- Experience: Proven background in stock control or warehouse operations.
- IT Savvy: Confident using order processing or database systems.
- Communication: Fluent written and spoken English with the ability to liaise with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Mindset: Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Stable Schedule: Regular Monday–Friday working hours (no weekend rotas).
- Competitive Pay: £13.50 per hour.
- Ownership: A varied, responsible role where you manage the process from end to end.
- Growth: A supportive team environment with the opportunity to make a tangible impact on local operations.
