Our client is a leading designer and maker of premium quality sofas and upholstery products based in Hastings, East Sussex. A vacancy has arisen for an Upholsterer to join their hardworking team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within an upholstery position as well as some quality checking experience. You will be able to use staple guns and furniture upholstery tools, as well as the ability to read drawings and follow instruction. As an Upholsterer you will be contributing and maintaining the smooth flow of production in line with the planned company schedule to ensure that the correct product is delivered on time, whilst maintaining the Company s high standard of quality. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities: Demonstrable experience within an upholstery position Be able to use a staple gun as well as furniture upholstery tools Quality checking experience Ability to read drawings and follow instruction Be a strong team player Your duties as an Upholsterer would be: Maintaining the use of personal protective equipment at all times Ensuring the correct use of staple guns and tools Being aware of quality and use materials effectively to avoid waste and unnecessary cost Checking all work for defects i.e. flaws, items cut and sewn incorrectly as well as your own workmanship to ensure that the final product is a quality upholstered piece of furniture Helping fellow team members with lifting Reporting all problems to the superv
