Due to the nature of our clients'' work and timescales involved this role would require candidates to obtain active SC Clearance to start. What the role of the Mechanical Design Engineer entails:Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer will include:Carry out detail design activities to meet the requirements of design for manufactureHand calculations and preliminary sizing of components, including material selection, gear rating, shaft and bearing analysis, rotor dynamics, other drive system elements including structural components, couplings, lubrication systems, relevant instrumentation and control systemsCAD activities including conceptual design, 3D and 2D modelling. Create component and complex assembly drawings. Drawing and technical documentation checking. BOM and gear data generation and engineering change control processingManufacturing drawings generation with a clear understanding and application of Design for Manufacture principlesCreate deliverable documentation including Manuals, Installation and Maintenance instructions as necessaryConcession/Non-conformance assessment and resolution - including hand calculations as requir
