Overview

Senior Software Engineer - React Native - Consumer at Kraken. The Consumer team focuses on building applications that expose Kraken’s product offering to the mass market, with the aim of onboarding the next 100 million people to the benefits of crypto. This role primarily involves developing features and maintaining our Consumer mobile applications, which provide the simplest way for customers to interact with Kraken. We expect candidates to have an extreme eye for detail, a passion for building world-class user experiences, a “ship fast but don’t ship shit” attitude, and to be highly self-driven.Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React NativeSet the standard for high-quality code and lead complex software systems developmentSignificantly influence technical decisions, contribute to technical strategy discussions, and shape product/domain decisions with an expert understanding of engineering best practicesMentor junior and senior engineers and provide constructive feedbackMaster multiple technologies and stay ahead of the curve with new tools and trendsDesign and implement scalable, maintainable, and fault-tolerant systems, with a deep understanding of complex software development architecture and design patternsLead and collaborate on complex initiatives, and drive feedback and growth across teamsDrive process improvements and lead by example with advanced experience in multiple software development processesQualifications

6+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on web and mobile applicationsDeep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and proficiency with React Native frameworksStrong experience of API design, security, and performance optimizationExperience with Next.js and WebSocketsExperience with frontend testing frameworksFamiliarity with modern front-end build pipelines and toolingStrong understanding of UI/UX best practices and principlesExperience within a large technology organization or fast growing startupHands-on experience in consumer payments, crypto or fintech mobile applicationsStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishNice to have
