Tutor

Prospero Teaching is looking for engaging, resilient, and understanding Tutors to work with young people at risk of permanent exclusion (PEX) in Alton and nearby areas. These students need support not only in their academic progress but also in their emotional and social development.As a Tutor, you will:You will work on a 1:1 basis with learners who are currently disengaged from mainstream education. Your role will focus on:Core subject catch-up (English, Maths, Science)Supporting emotional regulationEncouraging positive social developmentAbout you:Tutors or educators with experience working with vulnerable or disengaged learnersIndividuals who are patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive educationThose with strong behaviour management and communication skillsPosition - TutorContract or position start date - ASAPContract or position end date (if applicable) - N/AFull time/part-time - Opportunities for bothHours - VariedEssential and Desirable Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young peopleTrauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- DesirableTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:Hold right to work in the UKHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new applicationProvide references upon requestPossess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
