CNC Setter/Operator

Jackson Hogg is supporting our long-standing client in their search for an experienced CNC Setter. This is a great opportunity for a skilled CNC professional to join a busy, high-precision engineering environment based in Derby.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with modern CNC milling machines, takes pride in quality and accuracy, and is confident working to tight tolerances.

What you will be doing

• Setting and operating CNC milling machines with a strong focus on Mazak
• Producing precision aerospace components from engineering drawings
• Working with tight tolerances and checking your own work to ensure top quality
• Using a wide range of measuring equipment to inspect finished components
• Carrying out quality checks and ensuring the right first-time standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised machine area
• Supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost and delivery
• Working independently while also contributing as part of a wider team
• Supporting shift patterns, including nights where required

What we are looking for

• Time served CNC Setter Operator
• Strong experience using Mazak milling machines, including 3, 4 and 5 Axis
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience with Heidenhain, Mazatrol and Fanuc controls
• Confident using inspection and measuring tools
• Good attention to detail and excellent concentration levels
• Practical and hands-on approach to problem solving
• Computer literate and comfortable following written instructions
• Ability to work safely and maintain high housekeeping standards
